Programmes Areas

Choice Ghana is a Ghanaian Non-Governmental Organization founded in 2005. Prior to its registration in 2007, the organization existed as a Community Based Organisation (CBO) and implemented projects with other smaller groups such as women groups and other CBOs in the areas of Sanitation management, Human rights (engagement with the district assembly on the rights of the brilliant but needy to attain quality tertiary education), HIV/AIDS awareness creation, and women participation in local governance.

Choice Ghana places the marginalised or vulnerable people at the centre of development and focuses on empowerment and protection of the vulnerable to have access to development through active participation in development decision making. Choice Ghana focus on the need to maintain a minimum quality of life that has been defined as freedom from fear, freedom from want and freedom to take action on one’s own behalf.
We are committed to working with our communities, state and non-state institutions and other CBOs so that we will be able to network the relevant stakeholders to enhance our working environment through effective collaboration and innovation to be able to fulfil our vision. This approach will help stimulate the required development in our communities.

OUR MISSION

To achieve well informed, empowered and active communities that fully participate in their own development process and capable of demanding their rights from duty bearers to create or influence the needed change leading to an equitable, prosperous, peaceful and just society. The organisation seek to work with communities and other development partners for sustainable socio-economic development through a rational choice-led approach to human needs. People’s needs and therefore their choices are central to their development and of the economy as a result. Choice Ghana therefore strives towards the realization of these choices through research, collaboration, advocacy, capacity building, service delivery and information sharing among stakeholders.
